“Point of View” is an attempt to creatively investigate the dichotomy of coexistence that fills our world: personal and social, common and unique, romantic and trivial. The exhibition includes audiovisual and interactive installations – “visions” of contemporary world from the artists’ point of view and philosophical, historical, and optical perspectives.

Every artist then is a little bit of René Descartes. He is a fulcrum point himself, when creating the frame of reference, and every artist fills it with his perception and knowledge, ideas, doubts and emotions that they, in essence, project onto the “visible” world.

As the legend goes, once René Descartes spent a whole day in bed thinking about something, and there was a fly buzzing around and interfering with his concentration. He started pondering on how he could describe the fly’s location at any given moment of time so that he would be able to swat it without a miss. Finally he came up with the Cartesian coordinates, one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind.
