Many art historians and critics characterize artists of Sterligov’s school as “direct heirs of the Russian Avant-Garde”. All the masters are pupils and followers of Vladimir STERLIGOV (1904-1973), a brilliant representative of the Russian Avant-Garde and a pupil of Kazimir Malevich. In the early sixties and up until his death in 1973, a group of artists assembled around Sterligov and developed his creative principles.
