In an unprecedented collaboration, five major arts organizations in Baltimore and the Baltimore Area Convention & Visitors Association co-producted a major, multi-disciplinary arts festival to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Russian city of St. Petersburg. The festival was conceived by the music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Yuri Temirkanov, who is also a chief conductor and music director of the legendary St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
