◆”Capital of Nowhere” Manifesta 10 Parallel Program◆
As a part of the Parallel Program of Manifesta 10, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art held at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, CYLAND Media Art Lab presented the exhibition “Capital of Nowhere”.
“Capital of Nowhere” featured works by Anna Frants, Elena Gubanova, and Ivan Govorkov. The exhibition explored themes of identity, memory, and the complexities of post-Soviet spaces. It was curated by Victoria Ilyushkina, who has previously collaborated with CYLAND on various projects.
Manifesta 10 was the 20th-anniversary edition of the European Biennial of Contemporary Art. It was hosted by the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, chosen for its intellectual and historical relationship with both Eastern and Western Europe. The biennial featured over 50 contemporary artists from Russia and around the world, with a focus on reflecting on the changes since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the current geopolitical situation.
