◆Provenance. 15 Years of the Gallery◆
Marina Gisich Gallery celebrates its 15th anniversary with the exhibition project “Provenance.” The exhibition spans two floors of the building at 121 Fontanka Embankment. As is tradition, the main part of the show will occupy the first floor, extending into the entrance hall and the space of the home gallery.
The exhibition “Provenance” addresses one of the most pressing questions in the gallery world — the question of the value and significance of contemporary art.
What is truly worth a collector’s attention?
How do you choose the “right” artist?
“Provenance” represents the history, process, and outcome of the gallery’s professional collaborations with artists, museums, auction houses, curators, and critics. The gallery team builds the story behind individual works and entire series — from an artist’s debut show at the gallery to placing their work at international auctions in London and organizing retrospectives in major Russian museums.
In this case, the concept of the exhibition project “Provenance” is to present the must-know & must-have artists and works for the next five years. These are the names in which the gallery has consistently invested its efforts in recent years and intends to continue promoting in the future.
