Cyberfest 2013: Schizophrenia Taiwan 2.0

As part of the International Festival of Media Arts Cyberfest 2013, the State Hermitage Museum will present Schizophrenia Taiwan 2.0 — a dynamic showcase of emerging Taiwanese new media artists. The exhibition explores the influence of the digital revolution and cutting-edge technology on contemporary artistic expression.

Hosted in the Hermitage Youth Education Center, the final two days of the festival will feature works by a new generation of Taiwanese creators, all of whom grew up surrounded by color televisions, smartphones, and a national industry that manufactures nearly 80% of the world’s electronics. These cultural and technological factors have significantly shaped the perspectives and creative output of these young artists.

Alongside the exhibition, attendees can enjoy curated video screenings and engage in live discussions with the curators. This interactive format invites visitors to delve deeper into the context and meaning behind the works on display.

Cyberfest has been held annually since 2007 and brings together over 80 artists and art professionals from more than 20 countries. This year’s edition is organized in collaboration with the Hermitage Youth Center.
